Hi! My name is Maiko Hata. I was born in Osaka,
Japan. I grew up in Osaka and went to Doshisha Women’s College of Liberal Arts
in Kyoto where I completed my bachelor’s degree in English Communication. After
that, I attended Monterey Institute of
International Studies for my master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers
of Other Languages (TESOL). After completing the program, I worked for
Education
Consulting International that helps students
from Japan. After
coming back to Japan, I worked for
Senzoku Gakuen Junior College for 2.5 years as a full-time
EFL instructor. Then, my husband, Tom, and I moved to Osaka where I started
teaching at different universities as a part-time instructor.
On weekends, I love watching movies,
swimming, making pottery, and going out with my
friends. During vacations, Tom and I travel a lot. We’ve been to London, NY,
Arizona, California, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, and New Zealand in the last
three years. Also, last year, I did 2 mini-triathlon in New
Zealand - that was a lot of fun, too!
I hope you'll enjoy the course. If you
